This two day course covers working at height regulations and access systems found on wind turbines. Day two focuses on rescue and evacuation from the turbine with the use of the most commonly found devices on the market today.
Initially you will be introduced to the relevant legislation, associated hazards and risks. You will learn about spinal anatomy and posture and apply the above to planning lifts, controlling the risks and lifting techniques. You will also participate in a range of scenarios to demonstrate and consolidate your learning.
For those who wish to gain all the qualifications needed to access employmentwithin the wind energy industry in one consistent course. This 6 ½ day courseoffers you the essential qualifications and skills to go off shore on to windturbine generators and more.
Over the course of the day we will look at the equipment needed to entre confined space in a wind turbine. This day will be mainly practical with some theory in the morning. Working in a real Transition Piece you will get first-hand experience of the spaces you will encounter off shore. We will use the most common equipment on the market today and practice the procedures when entering and escaping from confined space in a wind turbine.
Initially you will be introduced to the relevant legislation, the theory behind fire combustion and fire spread, fire extinguishing and prevention. You will identify and have the opportunity to see a range of fire fighting equipment on a WTG. You will also participate in a range of scenarios to demonstrate and consolidate your learning.
